NATALIA TSEKOVA

Natalia Tsekova is one of the few professional Roma actresses in Bulgaria. A graduate of the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts (NATFA), she has built a career on stage and screen while advocating for Roma representation in the arts. In the interview, she spoke about her personal journey, the challenges her family faced between World War I and World War II in Bulgaria, and how theatre has become a tool for resistance, remembrance, and social change. Her insights contribute powerfully to the goals of the ROMDIEM project by connecting art and identity to historical memory.
